“The match is not over when the player falls, it is when he/she refuses to get up.”

We often tend to give up when things don’t seem to go our way. Mistakes are to be learned from, and a hard past can only result in a stronger future. Though many might find themselves alone in their misery, the truth is, they are not, everyone has struggles. We all have our ups and downs, but it is how we react to them that truly matters. The belief that life will simply roll over, give in to our demands, and allow us to achieve our goals is unrealistic. Therefore, we must learn not to blame life for our failures, rather simply stand our ground and work smarter with a ‘never give up’ attitude firmly in place.

How many of us have succeeded in what we try in the first attempt? Not many. This proves that success cannot be attained in one day. When life gives us a thousand reasons to quit trying, give yourself one reason to try one more time.

Life is like a blank slate. As that blank slate sustains the status quo, so does life. Until that slate is written on, there is no story, no direction, no purpose, but there is endless possibility. It is up to you whether you want to fill the slate or keep it blank and if fill, then with what. As soon as the journey begins, a story starts to emerge, a direction begins to tug, a purpose starts to form, and meaning which gives life to passion begins to set in.

Therefore, regardless of the adversities you may face in life, know that you get the final say in writing and living out your life’s story. Do not capitulate to life’s challenges, and never stop creating and working on making your life’s vision a reality. Remember, everyone has challenges to overcome as life is full of them. But those who continue to push themselves harder and harder are the true winners who have triumphed over the hardships of life.

Had the freedom fighters given up the endeavor to live in a free country, there would have not been the greatest country in the world, India. Had Vikram Sarabhai given up the thought of setting up the Indian Space Agency (now ISRO), India would not have been a space power. Had Dr. Bhabha given up the vision to see India as a nuclear power, the India we see now would not have had been the same. Had Dadasaheb Phalke given up the dream of independent film industry, there would have been no Film Industry in India. The list goes on and on but it includes only them who tried and then succeed.

Even if you fail, just accept how you feel. Nobody is a failure just because they had a setback. Be constructive and learn from the situation. Anyone who wants to do things of value in life will fail. Find inspiration and support around you.
It’s never over till you give up. Be stubbornly persistent. Remember that these ceaseless efforts will eventually help you overcome your obstacles.
Do not give up, Do not surrender.
